It's a new season and we have a new class of boys entering the Jungle. Its my first year as an RA, Resident Assistant, and my primary mission this semester is to show these new boys how to navigate this jungle we call college the best way I know how: through adventure.
Sometime right after midterms my freshmen year, I came to the realization that partiesjust aren't for me. It made me uncomfortable thinking that, in college, in order to have fun you had to smoke, drink, and party. And with my conversations with different people on and off campus I would often hear people say "Morgan is Boring" and "... there's nothing todo". This posed a unique challenge to me thus my search for adventure came about.
Something I learned as a young child is that "everything is not what it seems" so that semester I spent a lot of time exploring campus searching for gems that most people didn't know about. It's amazing how many interesting things are right under your nose.

Through my search for these gem I learned so much about myself. From understanding the things I truly enjoy to testing the expanse of my knowledge. There is so much benefit in testing you limits and so I the first Saturday of the school year my co-RA and I, Sam Akintomide, went on an adventure with some of our residents. There's a river near our building that has always fascinated me but I never had to the opportunity to explore. But finally I had the chance.
The sole mission of this trip was to instill a sense of appreciation for our campus because its easier to disregard something you have no connection to than something you feel apart of. I'd never know if my love for my adventure resonated with them but with smiles and laughs are all the confirmation I need to know that my little efforts that day made some impact.
